Mark Zuckerberg has been dropped from a lawsuit filed last month seeking to prevent Meta Platforms Inc. from buying a small virtual reality startup.
FTC says Meta and Zuckerberg are attempting to expand the company's virtual-reality empire by purchasing the fitness app, a move that violates antitrust laws.
Mark Zuckerberg has been removed from a lawsuit that seeks to block Meta's acquisition of virtual reality startup Within Unlimited by the Federal Trade Commission.
FTC filed suit against Meta's acquisition of Within Unlimited, which makes a VR fitness app called Supernatural, in July.
The FTC contended that the obtaining, which was reported in October, would give Meta an illicitly prevailing situation in the computer-generated simulation market.
Meta, which mentioned Zuckerberg's expulsion from the claim, had recently contended that the FTC claim was "in view of philosophy and hypothesis, not proof.
